Fur Trading
Throughout all of recorded history, there have been very few commodities traded a furs have. From the earliest times until the current day, furs provide an effective way to stave off the cold, and make even the most uncomfortable bench seem tolerable. They have always been a necessity in the houses of royalty as well as chieftains.
Today, the fur trade has moved to the upper levels of society with fur coats and wraps being worn for “red-carpet” affairs all around the world, while the common folks have moved to more modern fibers. Here on the Drakkar, we recognize the value of furs, and more importantly we attempt to bring it to the common folks, leaving the misconceptions behind. Each year, here in Anchorage, our people visit with the fur traders that visit our town for the “Fur Rondy” or Fur Rendezvous that happens every year in search of that perfect pelt to trade with. Feel free to browse through our listings here and if you see something you must have, let us know.
